“The Double” New Full Trailer — Director Richard Ayoade’s Doppelganger Flick starring Jesse Eisenberg

Jesse Eisenberg is a "creepy guy" who gets creeped out by a doppelganger in the new domestic trailer for "Submarine" director Richard Ayoade's hyper-stylized comedic nightmare "The Double." "The Social Network" star performs dual roles as the introverted Simon and the outgoing James: two office clerks who are not related but look exactly alike, complete with the same identical frumpy suit that resembles something David Byrne would've donned in a Talking Heads music video.

And while their co-workers aren't able to notice their striking physical similarities, Simon certainly doesn't consider the sudden appearance of James as a happy accident. Especially since James seems to be dead-set on charming his way into Simon's life -- perhaps with the evil intention of taking it over and pushing him out, but not before Simon gets to see his would-be girlfriend (Mia Wasikowska) stolen from under his fingertips. Ah man, creepy guys never win the girl.

"The Double" opens on iTunes/VOD and in theaters on May 9th.

synopsis:
Simon (Jesse Eisenberg) is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon's exact physical double and his opposite - confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon's horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.
