“Beneath” Blu-Ray Trailer — New Creature Feature from Horror Filmmaker Larry Fessenden

Indie filmmaking vet Larry Fessenden has carved out a respectable career, writing and directing such slow-burning, atmospheric horror films as Habit, Wendigo, and The Last Winter. His latest effort, however, demonstrates the filmmaker's willingness to camp things up if need be.

"Beneath," which was initially produced and aired on Chiller TV late last year, is the director's take on low-budget creature features that center on clueless teens who are picked off one by one by an unknown monster. In this case, it's a "giant flesh-eating fish" that gets provoked when a small row boat filled with young careless partygoers enters in its vicinity.

Shout Factory is releasing the film on Blu-Ray and DVD this month, March 25. They also recently released the film's Blu-Ray trailer, above.

synopsis:
When a group of young friends commemorating their high school graduation take a trip to the remote Black Lake, their celebration turns into a nightmare. Trapped in a leaking boat with no oars, the teens face the ultimate test of friendship and sacrifice during a terror-stricken fight for survival when they find something is living beneath the surface.
