It's only his second feature, but writer/director/cinematographer Jeremy Saulnier is earning rave reviews for his indie thriller "Blue Ruin," about a bearded transient who becomes consumed with revenge after discovering a man connected to his past has been freed from prison. When the acclaimed film -- which stars Macon Blair (who also serves as an executive producer) -- made its world premiere at last year's Cannes Film Festival, the rising filmmaker took home the Fipresci prize. The film was then quickly picked up by Weinstein's specialty label, Radius-TWC.
Now, the distributor intends to release "Blue Ruin" in theaters and VOD next month, on April 25th. Plans are also set for a UK release in May -- thus, this brand-new international trailer (above), which offers another peek at this promising indie gem.
