When an unsuspecting family happens to spot some peculiar lights in the sky, their weekend trip to the woods quickly turns into a close encounter of the strange kind. Luckily, one of them is carrying a video camera to record every terrifying moment.

Sure, "Alien Abduction" looks like a paint-by-the-numbers found-footage thriller, but it's newly-released trailer has some promising scares. Here's hoping that first-time director Matty Beckerman and first-time screenwriter Robert Lewis have brought something new to this tired sub-genre.

Starring Peter Holden, Jillian Clare, Corey Eid, Katherine Sigismund, Riley Polanski as the unfortunate clan, "Alien Abduction" will be in theaters and on iTunes and VOD, April 4th.

“Afflicted” Trailer — New Found-Footage Thriller starring Filmmakers Derek Lee and Clif Prowse

It's all fun and games until someone starts to show signs of superhuman powers. Writers/directors Derek Lee and Clif Prowse star as themselves in the new found-footage thriller "Afflicted," which follows two budding videographers who decide to record every second of their crazy vacation trip to Europe.

Problem arises when Derek is suddenly "afflicted" by a mysterious disease, causing him to act out, erratically -- such as, punching out a wall like it was made out of paper, climbing up a building like Spider-man and running faster than a motor scooter. But with great power comes great instability as Derek discovers he's turning into something that's more super than actual man.

Following a successful run on the genre festival circuit, "Afflicted" is now set to open in theaters and iTunes/VOD on April 4th.
